Abstract
731,978. Cathode-ray tubes. COLE, Ltd., E. K., and LEVI, J. E. Feb. 8, 1954 [Feb. 7, 1953], No. 3516/53. Class 39 (1). Parallel annular focusing magnets are mounted on separate frames, one of which is slidable in the direction' of the magnet axis. Magnets A, C are fixed to supports B, D by an adhesive and projections B1, support D being slidable on two parallel rods H and adjusted by a threaded Archimedean screw J which is fastened to the plate B by the split pin T. Adjustable lugs E are used to support the arrangement. The screw J is gripped by two rods K which are stressed towards each other at the ends and are mounted with the frame D. Additional adjustment of the beam is provided by a magnetic annular plate held within a depression of a plate N and which is frictionally rotatable against a resilient strip S which is fastened to the frame B. The magnets are of ferromagnetic ferrite, axially magnetized, with the adjacent faces of like polarity.
