Abstract
729,354. Boots &c. BERGMANS, J. A. Jan. 29, 1953 [Jan. 13, 1952], No. 2565/53. Class 17 (2). A moccasin type shoe has a leather sole 3 moulded to provide an upstanding rim 5 and a depression 4, Fig. 2, at the heel into which a heel piece 1, having a tapering extension 2, is fitted. An upper 6 fitted to a reduced part of the rim 5 to form a seam 8. A cover strip 7 is first stitched to the upper 6 and is then stuck down over the ' seam 8 which is completed by stitches at 9, 9 which pass through the upper and reduced part of the rim 5 above the cover strip 7 and through the cover strip 7 and rims 5 respectively. The seam 8 is water- and dust-tight and lies well above the level at which the foot contacts the sole unit.
