Abstract
728,418. Cooling cement clinker &c. FULLER CO. June 4, 1953 [June 16, 1952], No. 15438/53. Class 51 (2). Apparatus for cooling cement clinker discharged from a rotary furnace 1 comprises an inclined grate 2, the space below which is divided into air chambers 3 and 4, a fan 11 supplying cold air to chamber 4 for discharge through the lower part of the grate, an offtake 16 leading this heated air to a chimney 7, and a fan 12 diverting part or all of this heated air to the chamber 3 for discharge through the upper part of the grate and delivery to the furnace for use as combustion air. In a modification the chambers may both be supplied with a mixture of cold and preheated air, or a number of chambers may be provided, the first being supplied with preheated air and the middle chambers with mixed cold and preheated air. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 699,108.
