Abstract
513,132. Shaft kilns, furnaces, &c. PRIEST, C. F. April 1, 1938, No. 10022. [Class 51 (ii)] A vertical kiln, furnace or the like is provided with means for exhausting gases at the top consisting of two annular plates a, d between which are arranged annular walls p, h to form an annular chamber e to which gases pass from the kiln b through ports f in the plate a. The kiln is charged through a tubular member k which engages with the plate a and an annular plate i. The ports f may be covered with a perforated plate r to prevent solid material entering the chamber e and also provided with dampers (not shown). Gases leave the annular chamber e through the outlet n.
