Means for supplying air to a steam-generator furnace comprises a fan chamber 1 attached to the front plate of the furnace and containing a steam-driven air fan, the air outlet from the casing leading to a hot air chamber 7 situated in a high temperature zone above and in front of the grate, air from the chamber being delivered, through passages 11, over the grate. Exhaust steam from the fan chamber 1 passes through a pipe 21 and is delivered beneath the grate.
