Abstract

721,319. Rotary pumps. BERESFORD & SON, Ltd., J., and COLLIER, W. H. April 27, 1953 [May 16, 1952], No. 12381/52. Class 110(2). The driving shaft 12 of a rotary pump is journalled in bearings 11, 13, 14 arranged as shown and has bores 123 ... 127 through which liquid is fed to said bearings from a continuation of the bore 125 formed in the impeller 15 of the pump. The impeller is made of rubber and is bonded to a metal bush which is keyed to the shaft 12. The flexible vanes of the impeller co-operate with a web 105 and terminate in arcuate-shaped end portions. The shaft 12 is made of non-corrosive material.
