Abstract

788,378. Liquid-ring pumps. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. Feb. 2, 1956 [Feb. 5, 1955], No. 3356/56. Class 110 (1). In a liquid-ring pump of the kind wherein a closed ring of liquid is driven rotationally in a casing by an impeller provided with rigid vanes directed substantially transversely to the direction of rotation, the casing is arranged for rotation in the same direction as the impeller, and the impeller shaft and the casing are rotatably mounted in and on a single common bearing element. In the liquid-ring compressor or vacuum pump shown, the impeller shaft 3 is eccentrically journalled in a bearing 4 which projects within a recess 5 in the impeller 2. The rotary casing 1 is journalled on the bearing 4 by means of a collar 8. The bearing 4 and a control disc 7 are carried by a member 6.
