Class 82 (2) The sink lifters 11 of a rotary separator for sink and float separation are imperforate and inclined, over a substantial part of their length, in the direction of rotation of the drum 5, and a vertical baffle 15 extends longitudinally of the drum on ',each side of its axis. Material to be separated is fed into the drum at 17 and heavy medium at 18; floats discharge at 19 and sinks through the trough 20.
