Abstract

699,856. Cable couplings. LANDAUER, P. M. April 5, 1951 [Jan. 5, 1950], No. 306/50. Class 38 (i). A connector for joining lengths of cable 7, Fig. 3, comprises a pair of insulating body members 1, 2 channelled on co-operating faces to form a passage for the cable lengths, member 1 having embedded in it pins 9 which penetrate the cable insulation and contact the conductors thereof, those pins which contact corresponding conductors of the cable lengths being connected by metal strips 8. The body members may be hinged together or slid into engagement with one another, ribs on the sides of one member engaging grooves in the other member, or spring clips carried by opposite edges of one member may engage recesses in the other member. Specification 661,480 is referred to.
