Abstract

803,951. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., CARNELL, J. C., SHEPHERD, S. A., and TAYLOR, F. Dec. 20, 1956 [Dec. 23, 1955], No. 36972/55. Class 38 (1). A plug contact is bent up from a flat blank to form a channel-shaped portion 1 and a terminal portion 2 extending longitudinally therefrom, the side walls of the channel having outwardly extending lips 8 and being tapered towards the end of the channel remote from the terminal portion whereby said end is wedge-shaped, the mutually inclined surfaces of the wedge being provided by the base 5 of the channel and the lips 8, which surfaces form the contact surfaces. The terminal portions of several contacts may be connected by an integral bridging piece. Specifications 689,922 and 796,964 are referred to.
