690,987. Spring saddle pillars for cycles. FIELDS, W. Jan. 18, 1951 [Oct. 18, 1949], No. 26777/49. Class 136 (iii) A cycle saddle support comprises a saddle pillar P slidable in a sleeve S upon a coil spring C, the sliding movement being limited by bolts B screwed into a collar R<SP>1</SP> on the pillar P and passing through guides G in a collar R on the sleeve S. The guides G may be formed by holes in the collar R or by hardened steel bushes or by split collets fastened in the collar. The top end of the pillar P is prevented from splitting when tightened to the saddle by a solid piece F. Specification 517,790 is referred to.
