Abstract
666,584. Vehicle wheels. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and TRUSTY, W. Jan. 11, 1950 [Feb. 15, 1949], No. 4069/49. Class 144 (i). The base 3 of a tubular metal rim, of the kind described in Specification 650,360, for cycle wheels, is reinforced by a ring 2 having struckup nipples 5 through which, and apertures 6 in the rim-base 3, the shanks 11 of the spoke nipples are assembled, the coned heads 10 of the spoke-nipples being screwed down against coned washers 9 fitted on the rim-nipples 5. The outer periphery 7 of the rim has larger apertures 8 for the passage of the headed ends 10 of the spoke-nipples and the washers 9.
