913,967. Wheel rims. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. March 10, 1961 [April 5, 1960], No. 8936/61. Class 144 (2). A light-weight cycle wheel rim for use with tubeless tyres comprises a rim base 1 with side flanges 2 which are extended radially inwardly of the base 1 and axially inturned at their ends 5 to support a metal strip 3 which is perforated and recessed at 7, 6 to house spoke nipples 8, the flange ends 5 being cut away at a zone 9 of their circumference to permit the strip 3 to be threaded into position. The strip 3 may be of such length that its ends abut on assembly with the base 1, or its ends may be spaced by the length of the zone 9 and the gap closed by a separate member. An inflation valve aperture 10 in the rim base is aligned with the zone 9 and a corresponding aperture is provided in the strip 3 or the separate member.
