Abstract

650,360. Cycle wheels. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and PLAYER, E. Oct. 13, 1948, No. 26612. [Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii)] A cycle wheel 1 comprises a tubular metal rim having spoke holes 2 in the inner peripheral wall 6, each hole 2 having a lip 3 extending into the tubular rim and capped by an outwardly tapering frustoconical washer 5, the smaller diameter portion of which provides a seating for a spoke nipple 4. As shown, the spoke nipple 4 has a conical head 7 which seats on the edge of the smaller diameter portion of the washer 5, the outer peripheral wall 10 being apertured for access to the nipples.
