Abstract

659,821. Knitting. MACK, S. C., & KAYSER & CO., J. Nov. 28, 1947, No. 31571. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1946. Addition to 659,792. [Class 74 (ii)] In order to produce a form of the narrowing of the parent Specification, in which loops from three adjacent wales are overlapped, Fig. 14, a narrowing point 20 transfers loop a to needle 11 to produce an initial pair of overlapped loops (line B); and, thereafter, the triads of overlapped loops are formed by a series of cycles each comprising an inward one-needle step of the empty transfer point (lines C, F and I), to bring another point into action, followed by two consecutive one-needle inward steps (lines D, E; G, H) to transfer, at each step, the loops on the needles opposite the active points to the adjacent needles. Preferably the last step is that one of a cycle which leaves a pair of loops at the inner end of the narrowed section (line J). Specification 659,816 is referred to.
