[Class 52 (iii) ] A table is provided wherein the top is arranged to be adjustably fixed to a supporting post with the aid of a clip adapted to embrace the post the clip having a clamping screw whereby the clip binds on the post said clip having means for carrying the table top which can be adjustably swung about the axis of the clamping screw. As shown a mounting 1 is provided with a vertical supporting post 13 about which a clip 16 is arranged. About each leg of the clip a trunnion bracket 22 is arranged each bracket 22 having an out-turned lip 22A adapted to engage a slot 21 in a U-shaped member 20 secured to the underside of the table top 19. A square-shanked bolt 18 passes through apertures 17, 23 in the clip 16 and trunnion brackets 22 respectively, the bolt 18 being provided with a fly nut 26 for tightening and clamping purposes On the bolt 18 and bearing on the outside faces of the table member 20 are plates 24 which when the nut 26 is screwed up press the legs or flanges 20B inwardly against the trunnion brackets 22 to prevent translational movement of the table top 19 press the trunnion brackets 22 against the clip legs, the adjacent faces being serrated, to prevent angular movement of the table top 19 about the axis of the bolt 16 and finally to cause the clip 16 to bind on the post 13. Loosening of the bolt 18 permits translation movement, and angular movement of the table top 19. The mounting 1 comprises two curved cheeks 2, 3 connected by a pair of telescopic tubes and also by a screw engaging an internally threaded tube whereby the cheeks 2, 3 another for positioning the table on, say the arm can be made to approach and recede from one of a settee. &c.
