Abstract

657,881. Printing-machines. NUORA, A. J. March 28, 1949, No. 8365. [Class 100 (ii)] A printing-machine is constructed with one or more impression cylinders 5, 6 which are carried around the space between two oval tracks 30, 31 by means of connecting-rods 28, 281 respectively which are driven by gearwheels 27 mounted on a driving-shaft 26 arranged at or near to the centre of the oval track. The rollers 5, 6 are rotated by the toothed track 30. Sheets are fed in known manner from a pile 10 and delivered to a pile table 11, and are taken by grippers 6, 7 on the cylinders 5, 6, and printed by a type bed 3, which is inked by travelling rollers 18, 19 and 20, 21 which are in contact with distributing rollers 22, 23 driven by the toothed track 31. The inking-roller carriages 24, 25 are also operated by connecting-rods 29, 29<SP>1</SP> from the wheels 27. The rollers receive ink from a band 16 moving over a fixed plate 17 and supplied with ink from a duct 12 by a vibrating roller 13. If desired, one of the rollers 5, 6 may be put out of action so that the bed 3 is inked twice between each impression.
