[Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii) ] A furnace end for a tilting regenerative open-hearth furnace comprises three separate, detachable and renewable parts 4, 5, 6, parts 4, 6, being disposed respectively above the vertical air and gas uptakes 7, 8, whilst removal of the lightest part 5 facilitates repair of the highly stressed gas port which is located in the part 4 at its end remote from the hearth.
