Abstract

<PICT:0652755/III/1> An emulsifier wherein the substances to be emulsified are forced under pressure between closely fitting surfaces has the said surfaces free from grooves and in the form of a cylindrical housing and a fixed detachable cylindrical plug d, e held centrally in the housing. In operation, the substances enter a pump cylinder a through a non-return valve f and on the return stroke of a piston g are forced pass the surface of the plug at d, past the reduced portion e and discharged through an outlet h. The plug may be replaced by other plugs of differing diameters to enable varying degrees of emulsification to be effected. In a modification, the plug is furnished with centralizing means. Specification 15774/13, [Class 1 (i)], is referred to. The Provisional Specification describes also a plug of a plurality of different diameters.
