Abstract

<PICT:0695277/III/1> A homogenizing attachment for a mixing machine for use in the baking and chemical trades and the like comprises a reciprocating spring loaded ram 10 working in a tubular body 5, one end of which forms a compression chamber 6 which is provided with an inlet port 17, a homogenizing valve 18 and an outlet nozzle 23. The material to be homogenized is drawn into the chamber 6 past a non-return valve 16 on the upstroke of ram 10 and is ejected past valve 18 in homogenized condition on the return stroke of said ram. Adjustment of the maximum clearance of valve 18 from its seating may be effected by means of a screwed sleeve 20 which carries the outlet nozzle 23. The reciprocating motion of the ram is effected by the rotation of a cam 1 which engages a spindle 11 connected to said ram.
