Abstract

1,083,224. Hydraulic reciprocating pumps. AEROSOL INVENTIONS & DEVELOPMENT S. A. May 17, 1965 [June 12, 1964], No. 20853/65. Heading F1A. A pump for mounting on a bottle 10 comprises a cylinder 28 with a depending dip tube 32, and a piston 40 reciprocable manually by a button 18, liquid drawn in via inlet valve 36 being discharged through the piston to a nozzle 52 via a ball valve 60 which is fixed to a stem 62 so that the valve is unseated during the delivery stroke. The piston assembly is of resilient plastics, and the valve seat 68 is dimensioned such that the ball 60 can be forced through the seat during assembly. Air enters the bottle during the delivery stroke via clearance 22 and cylinder port 38, the air path normally being closed by piston bead 42.
