651,238. Closures. ABBEY, A. (Berner Aktiebolag, C.). Nov. 29, 1948, No. 30941. [Class 125(iii)] A closure of the kind comprising a screwed cap 2 integral with a sealing band 3 which, upon unscrewing of the cap, is torn away from the cap along a perforated or scored weakening line 5, is characterized by the band having at least one additional weakening line 6 extending transversely of the band so that the band will burst open upon unscrewing of the cap. The line 5 may be formed by spaced slits 4 and the line or lines 6 extend to one or more portions between the slits. The lines 6 may be formed by scoring, slitting or by aligned holes.
