Abstract

644,247. Rotary furnaces. EVERY, C. E. (Smidth & Co: Aktieselskab, F. L.). July 29, 1948, No. 20278. [Class 51(ii)] In a rotary cement kiln having a drying and preheating zone leading into a gas outlet chamber at the upper end dust deposited in the gas chamber is conveyed to the inlet 14 of a housing 12 surrounding the kiln and situated immediately beyond said drying and preheating zone. Scoops 17 in said housing 12 supported on and passing through the kiln casing 1 terminate in openings 16 flared outwardly in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the kiln.
