640,930. Hair-waving appliances. TASHO, E. June 26, 1947, No. 16869. [Class 131] [Also in Group XI] An apparatus for heating hair waving clips comprises a base 1, provided with a contact box 2 for connection to a source of current and a socket 3 into which is fitted an electric heating unit 4, and a spider 5 on the base supporting a vertical cylindrical hot plate 6 having spaced rib-like projections 7 to receive the clips, the heating unit having, at its upper end, a recess 9 receiving a central pivot 10 of a second spider 11 the ends of the arms of which are secured to the upper end of the cylindrical hot plate. The projections are formed as round ribs or bars secured to the hot plate by spot-welding or as outwardly directed integral flutings of the hot plate.
