636,176. Treads ; ladders. FREEMAN, A. March 30, 1946, No. 9922. [Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv)] A non-slip tread component for a step, stair, ladder or the like, comprises a longitudinal series of metal rods of regular cross-section throughout which are welded or otherwise secured upon the top of, and held in spaced relation by, transverse metal members of the same cross-sectional form. In the form shown, a series of longitudinal rods 1 are equidistantly welded upon transverse rods 2 placed near their ends. A rod 3 bent and positioned as shown may also be welded under the longitudinal rods. Specification 636,173 is referred to.
