[Class 61 (iii)] A combination sliding jaw spanner has jaws projecting on either side of the shank a, jaw b adapted for use as a hammer and co-operating with jaw e for gripping nuts or bolts and toothed jaw c which is slotted at c<SP>1</SP> to form a nail claw co-operating with an opposed toothed jaw g for gripping pipes, the latter jaw guided for movement on an inclined ledge by pin i and slot h. The lower jaw f is adjustable on the shank a by a worm k mounted on an axle l pivoted at l<SP>1</SP> for releasing and removing the jaw when the hammer b is to be used. The end of the shank may be adapted as a screwdriver, tommy-bar, &c.
