612,475. Seat springing. DESSONNAZ, G. May 24, 1946, No. 15847. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1945. Addition to 598,458. [Class 52(i)] [Also in Groups XXXI and XXXII] The torsion-bar seat springing described in the parent Specification is modified so that each torsion bar is subdivided into two or more parts which are operatively interconnected. As shown the torsion bar is divided into two parts 5, 6 which are operatively interconnected by levers 10, 11 having interengaging teeth. The subdivided parts of the torsion bar may be interconnected by gearing or other suitable force-transmitting means and they may be parallel as shown or arranged at any suitable angle. The load or force application lever 9 or the anchorage 12 may be adjusted along the torsion bar parts to alter the effective length of the torsion bar spring.
