[Class 110 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] An aircraft power plant comprises an I.C. engine a' which drives a propeller c through a clutch d. This engine also drives an aircompressor f through a two speed gear-box or clutch o. The compressor supplies air to the combustion chamber of the jet m. This jet is augmented by the engine exhaust to the subsidiary jets t. The plant can be used at will to drive the aircraft by the propeller alone, by the jet alone, or both siinultaneously.
