Abstract

571,511. Vehicle wheels. ALLMAN, E. J. Nov. 19, 1943, No. 19357. [Class 144 (i)] Disc wheels for an agricultural machine such as a tractor can be set to different tracking widths (wheel spacing) by the hub 1 having radially projecting lugs 2 for attachment to corresponding inwardly projecting lugs 13 provided by the metal remaining between hollows 14 formed in the inner periphery of the centre disc 11 which at its outer periphery carries the wheel rim, the lugs on the hub being capable of free passage between the lugs on the disc so that the disc can be attached to the front or rear faces 2a, 2b of the lugs on the hub. The hub may be provided with a second set of lugs 3 axially displaced and this set may be circumferentially staggered relatively to the first set. The wheel disc 11, shown to a reduced scale in Fig. 3, is provided with a rim 10 which may be offset to one side and may be provided with a striking band 12 removable when the wheel is to run on a road.
