Abstract
562,143. Clamps. BREWER, A. G., and MASTS, Ltd. Dec. 15, 1942, No. 17836. [Class 45] [Also in Group XXV] A clamp for detachably securing cables 14 to an apertured support such as a hollow mast 7 comprises a bolt with a head 11 shaped so that it can be passed in non-central position through the aperture 8 and then brought to central position in which it seats in the aperture as shown, the bolt carrying a pair of slidable jaw members 23 shaped to take the cables and nut 1 which, when tightened, clamps the jaws on to the cables and forces jaw 3 against the support to secure the bolt-head against movement on its seat. The nut is held captive on the bolt by burring the bolt end, and, if required, as for example when the structure 7 is of thin material, a washer 9 may be secured to structure 7 and around the aperture, preferably by welding.
