Abstract

602,327. Stands. KERN & CO., Ltd. Jan. 25, 1945, No. 2018. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1943. [Class 52(iii)] In a stand for surveying instruments comprising a mounting-plate rotatably and tiltably adjustable on the head of the stand, the head has a spherical zone at its upper end which is received in a correspondingly shaped cavity on the underface of the mounting plate and a curved part or a spherical cap at its lower end with which a means for locking the mounting-plate in an adjusted position co-operates. As shown the head 1 has an upper spherical part 4 supporting the mounting-plate 5, to which is secured a rod 7, and has a curved lower part 11. The rod 7 passes through apertures 8, 9 and is provided with a slidable member 10 which is clamped against the curved part 11 by a screw-threaded clamping nut 12.
