Abstract
561,963. Heating air. ASCOT GAS WATER HEATERS, Ltd., and FRIEDMAN, L. April 7, 1942, No. 4544. [Class 64 (i)] An air heater for use in aircraft consists of a casing 9 between a head block 17 containing an air inlet passage 18 and a base block 5 containing a combustion chamber 8 from which the products of combustion pass through a perforated plate 16 to a flue 7 of a sectional area less than that of the combustion chamber. The fuel is supplied through an injector 13 and air through a nozzle 14. The mixture is fired by a. plug 12. Heated air is led away through pipes 11.
