Abstract
541,744. Refrigerating. KLEEN, N. E. AF. Aug. 3, 1939, No. 22564. [Class 29] A closed-cycle condensing heat transfer system applicable especially as a cooling system for the generator-absorber 14, Fig. 2, of a reversing absorption refrigerating system is formed with a pocket 3 in an upturned portion of the warm end 13 of the system, so that vapour gradually accumulates in the pocket until it forces liquid and vapour up the main conduit to the colder end A and circulation is promoted. The upturned part may be coiled around the heated flue 15 of the generator-absorber or several straight parts contacting with the flue and with the wall of the generator-absorber may be employed, these parts communicating at their lower ends with the usual annular chamber 13 forming part of the heat transfer system 17, 12, 9, 10. The closed end of the pocket may extend along or inside the riser conduit 17. According to the Provisional Specification a similar vapour pocket may be employed in an evaporator of a refrigerating system proper, to promote circulation.
