[Class 64 (iii)] Fluid is conducted to or from a heat exchanger at a point intermediate its ends by a tube b supported by an end closure member a and extending through ports in the heat-exchange plates b<1>. Some of the ports through, which the tube passes are closed by baffles m in order to direct the fluid through the spaces between the plates in a sinous course. The annular space between the tube and a surrounding sleeve g may serve as the inlet or outlet passage.
