Abstract
526,196. Settings for furnaces, boilers &c. DADGE, B. N., and KNOWLES, V. March 10, 1939, No. 7749. [Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii)] [Also in Group XIII] The foundation for furnaces, boilers &c. is formed of a raft of concrete with air ducts formed in or on the raft for the circulation of cooling air. Fig. 2 shows a boiler setting 10 supported on a raft 12 with cooling ducts 13 arranged between the setting and the raft formed of hollow bricks. The ends of the ducts are connected to flues 18, 23 the flue 18 being connected to the atmosphere and the flue 23 to exhausting means such as a blower or a chimney. The exhaust flue may be connected to an auxiliary chimney located within the main chimney. The exhaust flue may be divided into two sections each of which communicates with a number of the ducts 13. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1117/02 and 18417/07, [both in Class 51].
