Abstract
521,978. Sliding-window holders. DAIMLER CO., Ltd., and JELL, A. V. Nov. 30, 1938, No. 34846. [Class 44] Horizontally sliding windows are held in adjusted position by a pair of gripping arms 6, 6a pivotally mounted on lugs 10 on a cross rail 12 and operated by handle lever 15 pivoted on a lug 17 on the cross rail and pivotally connected at 14 to toggle links 13, 13a pivotally carried by the lower ends of arms 6, 6a. Lever 15 is shaped to present the handle 18 in a convenient position for operation. Raising handle 18 raises pivot 14 so that links 13, 13a cause the jaws 7 to close, pivot 14 passing over the dead-centre position into abutment with a stop 19. As shown, jaws 7 enter selected apertures 8 in a guidechannel 4 and compress a flexible lining strip 3 against the faces of the panes 1.
