[Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] An electric-discharge tube has a wall, at least partly, of metal with no exhaustion tube. A metal, e.g. iron bulb 1 is supported on a discshaped foot 2 of ferrochromium fitted with electrodes 7. The parte 1, 2 are placed on a porcelain stand 3 in a chamber 11 which is exhausted through an opening 12. After exhaustion, a band of solder 10 is melted by a high-frequency coil 13 to secure the bulb and the foot.
