Abstract
593,327. Discharge apparatus. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. June 14, 1945, No. 15103. Convention date, June 15, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXXV] A discharge device for controlling the H.T. current in an X-ray tube (see Group XXXV) comprises an anode disc 23 having a rounded edge 24, and a filamentary cathode 27 located in a recess 33 in a shield 28 which also has a rounded edge 32 similar to that of the anode for. avoiding local field concentrations. The shield is carried by a sleeve 29 clamped to the press 30 of the enclosing envelope of the device.
