Abstract

481,298. Hair - waving appliances. CALDERON, M. Sept. 26, 1936, No. 26198. [Class 131] A hair winder for use in permanent waving comprises a spring dip 10 having a narrow end adapted to clip about the curler 11 and a wide end adapted to accommodate the tress of hair being wound. The tress, having been attached to the curler, is passed between ears 17 on the clip and a pivoted wire frame 15 is swung over to hold the tress by means of a grooved roller 20, the ears 17 having spaced notches to secure the frame in various positions according to the tension desired. The winder is now revolved about the curler to wind the tress on the curler. The edge of the winder and/or the wire frame may be serrated, and spring tongues may increase the friction. In place of the frame 15 an arm pivoted on one of the ears may be used.
