Abstract

478,151. Television receivers. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ. Nov. 3, 1936, No. 29938. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1935. [Class 40 (iii)] A signal train comprising vision signals and relatively negative synchronizing signals is applied at El, E2, to vary the cathode potential of a gas-filled discharge tube Th1 whose grid is earthed. The synchronizing impulses thus render the tube conducting to discharge a condenser C2 charged over resistance R3 and so provide a line deflecting potential. A condenser C4, charged over resistance R4, is discharged by a gas-filled discharge tube Th2 to provide a frame deflecting potential. The tube Th2 is rendered conducting by an impulse passed over condenser C3. The normal line impulses passing over C3 are insufficient to render tube Th2 conducting, but when a frame synchronizing signal, constituted by a cessation of the line synchronizing signal, occurs, condenser C2 charges to twice its normal value, the impulse passing over condenser C3 is then of sufficient amplitude to render tube Th2 conducting.
