Abstract
459,602. Television. RADIOAKT.- GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. June 6, 1935, No. 16431. Convention date, June 7, 1934. Addition to 441,761. [Class 40 (iii)] In the parent Specification, the lead connecting the image signal amplifier of a television transmitter to the modulator 15 is earthed through a valve 1 for the period of the synchronizing signals. According to the present invention, the valve 1 is rendered conducting by an impulse derived from a gas-filled glow tube 8, which conducts at a predetermined amplitude of control oscillations and is extinguished independently of the control oscillations. Sinusoidal oscillations 3a, Fig. 3, of line frequency are applied to the grid of the tube 8 which is biassed to conduct at a level P of applied potential. The current passing through the tube charges a condenser 21 as shown in curve 3b, to a valve Q sufficient to quench the discharge. The charge on the condenser then flows away over a resistance 22 in a time approximately equal to the line period. This oscillation 3b is applied over a resistance capacity combination 6, 4, to produce an impulse 3c which is applied to render the valve 1 conducting. Frame frequency oscillations are similarly applied to a tube 9 to produce conductivity of valve 1 at frame frequency. The sinusoidal frame oscillations are preferably obtained from frequency reduction at 10 of the mains frequency of 50 c.s. at 16. The resistance-capacity couplings 6, 4, and 7, 5, have time constants smaller than the duration of the impulses applied to them.
