Abstract
473,307. Cable -end construction. SOLUTION TRUST, Ltd. April 9, 1936, No. 10569. Convention date, April 10, 1935. [Class 36] An end fitting for a sheathed cable having two or more conducting cores insulated by pulverulent insulating material, comprises a body 1 of insulating material which closes the end of the cable sheath and is provided with conduits 2, one for each conducting core, and an insulating partition 11 or partitions projecting from the outer end of the body 1 between the mouths of the conduits 2 and serving to separate the projecting ends of the cores. The side surfaces of the partition 11 or partitions may be curved to form troughs partially enclosing the projecting ends of the cores. The body 1 may fit closely within the cable sheath, a shoulder 8, Fig. 4, abutting against the end of the sheath or the fitting may be held in position by an annular cap or internally flanged sleeve engaging with a shoulder 20, Fig. 6, on the fitting and closely fitting around or attached to the outside of the cable sheath. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the conduits 22 open at their outer end on oblique faces 24 which are slightly curved to form a partition 25 between the conduits.
