[Class 7 (iii)] The invention described in the parent Specification is an engine in which jets of fuel are injected at different angles to the cylinder head into an air charge rotating in a combustion chamber, the mixture being ignited by a sparking-plug. According to the present invention, the jet 9 injected in the direction of rotation of the air makes a smaller angle with the cylinder head than the jet 10 injected against the direction of rotation. The combustion chamber has a depth at least 75 per cent of its mean diameter, and the jet 9 has a smaller penetrative power and makes a larger angle c with the cylinder diameter through the nozzle 4 than the jet 10.
