446,837. Doffing arrangements for spinning and like machines. LOW & CO., Ltd., J. F., and HAMILL, S. M., Monifieth Foundry, Monifieth, Forfarshire. Nov. 17, 1934, Nos. 33135/34 and 21120/35. [Class 120 (ii)] In spinning, doubling, twisting, and like frames provided with duplicate bobbin boards or lifter rails the doffing-mechanism comprises a lever frame 4 adapted to seat the rails between abutments 9, 10, and by pivotal movement about an axis longitudinal of the frame, to effect the movements necessary for transfer of the full and empty boards, stops 6, 6a being provided on the framework of the machine and spring-stops 11 or levers on the lever-frame to facilitate and determine the necessary relative movements of the boards and the lever-frames. The frame 4 comprises a number of sectors secured to a shaft 5. A rod 12, Fig. 6, is pivoted to the frame 4 and provided with springs 15, 16 which are compressed against a fixed member 14 during the extreme movements of the frame so as to assist the initiation of the reverse movements. Alternatively, the frame 4 may be operated through reduction gearing.
