Abstract
423,023. Dust separators. MOSS, E. W., 75, Victoria Street, London.-(Kadco Corporation ; 30, Rockefeller Plaza, New York, U.S.A.) Sept. 22, 1934, No. 27304. [Class 8 (ii)] Dusty air, e.g. from rock drilling, is cleansed in a casing divided into a baffle chamber C and a filter chamber D. The baffle chamber is further divided by a partition G; the entering air deflected by a baffle L deposits coarse dust in the compartment E and passes into the main baffle compartment F by a restricted nozzle Q. It is directed downwards by baffles S, V and given a swirling motion, assisting further dust deposition, by super. posed curved baffles Y. Dust falls to the bottom of the casing, and air passes through openings U to the filter chamber. This contains a festooned fabric supported on rectangular frames f, with open wire sides. The frames are hung from rods g and connected at the bottom to a shaker rod v.
