413,286. Tools and tool - holders. TURTON BROS. & MATTHEWS, Ltd., and FRANCIS, S., Steel, File, & Spring Works, Wentworth Street, Sheffield. Dec. 8, 1932, No. 34850. [Class 83 (iii).] A cutting-bit b is mounted in a groove in the front of a tool shank a by means of a clamping- member d which is serrated at its rear part j to engage corresponding serrations on the shank and is secured by a bolt e passing through a slot or one of a series of holes in the shank head. The back of the bit may be supported against a depending lug h on the clamping member. For obtaining side rake of the cutting edge the shank is provided with inclined supporting faces m for alternative use for right or left-hand cutting.
