Abstract
411,787. Gas-turbine plant. AKTIEBOLAGET MILO, 32, Kungsgatan, Stockholm. Jan. 30, 1934, No. 3143. Convention date, Feb. 1, 1933. [Class 110 (iii).] In a gas-turbine plant in which a powergenerating turbine 1 exhausts into a turbine 6 driving compressors 12, 14, for the charge air, a further compressor 16 is arranged to be driven by the power turbine. Conduits and valves are arranged so that at low-load or noload on the turbine 1, the compressor-driving turbine 6 may be cut out, the work of compression then being done by the compressor 16 acting alone. During normal working the compressor 16 may be in series or in parallel with the compressors 12, 14, or may be rendered inoperative by a clutch 39. The plant comprises a cooler 18 in the compressed air pipe into which water is sprayed, a regenerator 8 heated by exhaust gases, and a combustion chamber 23. In a modification the exhaust of the turbine 1 is reheated on its passage to the turbine 6.
