Abstract
400,972. Pulleys. PLATT BROS. & CO., Ltd., Hartford Works, Oldham, and KINCHIN, J. F., 131, Murray Road, Rugby. Feb. 6, 1932,No.3567. [Class 80 (i).] In a sheet-metal pulley of the kind comprising annular discs e forming the rim of the pulley and secured at their inner edges to a block a secured to a spindle b, the block is formed with grooves c the inner and outer walls of which diverge away from the openings, and the discs e are held by forcing collars d into the grooves, or by forcing the edges of the discs themselves into the grooves. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the discs e are formed with a hole of radius equal to the inner radius of the opening of the grooves so that the edges of the discs are forced somewhat into the grooves. The collars d have initially a mean radius equal to the mean radius of the grooves. In a modification, Fig. 10, the discs e are gripped between the two parts of a divided block a, the whole being secured together and to the spindle b by washers v pressed into grooves u<1> in the spindle.
