Abstract
392,073. Attaching watches to wrist. JARVIS, F., 8, Greenhill Parade, Harrow, Middlesex. Oct. 20, 1932, No. 29363. [Class 43.] In wrist-watch straps wherein two strap members are each attached to a loop 19 of a watch 20 by means of a metal plate 10, one end of the plate is formed with one or more tongues 12 and the other end is provided with slots or an opening 11. The plate is adapted to be folded into a loop such that each tongue 12 can be passed through a slot or opening 11 and bent down to secure the plate in position. Each strap member comprises two strips 15, 16 and each tongue 12 is passed through a slot 17 in the strip 15 so that the plate lies between the strips. The free end of the plate and the strip 16 are then folded through the loop 19 and bent round so that the tongue 12 can be passed through the opening 11. The strip 16 may be cemented to the plate 10 and the tongue 12 also passed through a slit 18 in the strip 16, or the tongue may be bent down on the plate and the strip afterwards cemented down to conceal it. The strips 15, 16 may be of the same length so that they are both folded through the watch loop, the strip 15 also having a slit for reception of the tongue 12. A modified plate is provided with side slots in addition to the opening 11 and adapted to receive tongues at the other end of the plate. The opening 11 may in this case be dispensed with.
