386,484. Thermionic valves. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. April 5, 1932, No. 9812. Convention date, April 9, 1931. [Class 39 (i).] A screen 13 of electrically insulating refractory material is arranged between the electrode system and the pinch, so as to be spaced away from the electrodes, and the entire radiating portion of the cathode is on the side of the screen remote from the pinch. The screen is mounted on the anode supports 14, 15 and the other electrode supports - pass through holes in it. The material of the screen may be steatite, magnesium oxide, lavite, lava, or the substance known under the Registered Trade Mark " Isolantite." A glass member 11 mounted on the anode 7 secures the grid supports and holds the cathode 10, which may be directly or indirectly heated, on hooks 12. The screen may consist of a cap above the pinch.
